As the saying goes, "Do or do not. There is no try."

This blog aims to help people reach the next level of personal and professional success. I do not define what this means for you, but I give suggestions about what this could look like. Ultimately, you paint the picture of your future based on your values, principles, internal, and external goals. You also determine your legacy. You must make the choice to become more productive, more proactive, more courageous, more consistent, more efficient, then naturally more successful.
Regardless of what you do, the time always passes anyway.
You can go to school, get an education, then try to enter your field of choice as a professional. Alternatively you can start an entrepreneurial journey switching from business to business trying to see what sticks and what produces. My father taught me a great lesson. Regardless of what you do, the time always passes anyway.
Remember, what you do today predicts where you are in 5 years.
Or you can... not. You can get a job without concern for pay, upward mobility, or longevity. You can choose to spend your free time having fun and spending cash. You can decide whether or not to be a good father, brother, husband, son, or friend. You have the choice. Remember though, what you do today predicts where you are in 5 years. The time will always pass, regardless. Furthermore OUR time will pass. The only end to life is death. We all die.
Chadwick Boseman died yesterday, August 28, 2020. His death placed heavy fog over my heart. He was 42 years young and died of colon cancer. On my social media feed, the posts mourning his death also celebrate a life well lived. No doubt his loved ones are devastated. They must be overwhelmed with sadness. However, he honored the world with his gifts. We remember.
The life you lead predicts how people mourn your death.
As a physician I've looked death in the eye multiple times. I have watched pupils widen, turning jet black as the angel of death slips a life away. Those last moments, surrounded by family, show the truth about a person's life. Some families curse and scream in anger while others smile peacefully, shedding sad tears. Having witnessed death I know the life you lead predicts how people mourn your death.
What things in your life will change? Tomorrow is not promised.
The world applauses Chadwick Boseman's high-level commitment to his community and to his craft. He has passed on generational wealth and well being to those who have consumed his work whether it be through activism or acting despite a cancer diagnosis 4 years ago. He released 6 films in that time, including Marshall, a biopic on civil rights leader, Thurgood Marshall and the record-setting Marvel film, Black Panther. What things in your life will change? Tomorrow is not promised. What is your legacy?
Rest in Peace Chadwick Boseman. You will be missed.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
Until next time my people.
